James is a man of many talents. Although his mother encouraged him to pursue stage performing from an early age, he only dabbled in theater projects as a youth, consistently shattering her high hopes for his theatrical career.
His first comedic outlet was as an extremely obscure blogger documenting his escapades in school and dating. He got his first taste of solo, live comedic performance while studying abroad in Israel after becoming widely-known as an entertaining seat mate on long bus rides. On one bus ride he read an original, humorous piece detailing the subtle pleasures of being conned into buying a lute in Egypt to the great delight of his fellow student-travelers (and, presumably, much to the delight of at least one unscrupulous, Egyptian lute merchant). When James found out about his University’s stand-up club, he was in the fortunate position of having already collected hundreds of funny ideas for blog posts, but, because he is an incorrigible procrastinator, having failed to develop them into actual entries. James has a knack for finding humor in everyday situations, and keeps his jokes fresh by continuing to write down new ideas. He also spends considerable effort perfecting his delivery. When he’s not writing or performing, James conducts experiments on lasers in the physics department, plays the bass guitar, sleeps, or poses for any magazine willing to pay his high modeling fees. He loves to kiss his girlfriend, but he’s afraid to let people know for fear of losing the single-guy street cred he needs to do some of his jokes.
